SEPI is continuing to build our resume of value-added services by utilizing the innovative pavement evaulation technology, Traffic Speed Deflectometer (TSD). TSD measures pavement structural response at highway speeds. It’s a tool that allows engineers to make better informed decisions through the collection of continuous data.

Through the support and teaming relationships with ARRB (owner of the equipment) and SCDOT, we are succesffully utilizing TSD on a current SCDOT project located on I-26 in Calhoun and Orangeburg counties, SC. Our primary involvement on this project is roadway design, but the pavement design and pavement analysis (particularly TSD) adds another dimension to the data set which better defines the existing structure of the roadways and increases the accuracy of performance predictions.
