North Carolina experienced a major disaster declaration due to a severe winter storm in March 2014. SEPI provided emergency response services and served as the monitoring firm responsible for overseeing the debris removal contractor.

This project generated almost $7 million in invoices for the contractor. SEPI handled all the debris documentation for the NCDOT, including preparing the package to submit to FEMA for the NCDOT.

This contract was by the cubic yard and the final resting place for the debris generated was a wood chip electric plant in Winston-Salem, NC. Each cubic yard was accounted for from the time it was picked up on the roadside and deposited at the wood chip incinerator.

Numerous leaners and hangers were generated due to the heavy ice, causing SEPI to place over 30 employees in the field for this contract.
