SEPI was responsible for providing data collection, capacity analysis, and public involvement services for the City of Durham Streetscapes project.
SEPI performed capacity analyses at all signalized intersections and signal warrant analyses at all unsignalized intersections. Intersection capacity analyses were conducted at each intersection for existing year conditions, future year conditions with existing roadway lane configuration, and future year conditions with the addition of recommended roadway improvements.
A traffic report summarizing the conducted capacity analyses was completed for each of the five project study areas. For each study area, SEPI’s public involvement included attending two focus group meetings. Each focus group provided input for vehicle/pedestrian operations as well as neighborhood beautification.
