SEPI is assisting the NCDOT in developing a GIS-based regional environmental model to streamline the project delivery process.
This is a statewide effort focusing on eight regions of the NCDOT. Using available data sets, field data collection, and predicative modeling techniques, the NCDOT expects to utilize the most current and accurate data to streamline project delivery through increased use of GIS-based data layers and analysis.
SEPI staff are involved with noise analysis, threatened and endangered species assessment, GIS analysis, field data collection, and evaluating policy improvements.
