The NC 58/NC 24 Lane Improvements project consists of adding a second dedicated right turn lane and extending existing merge lanes towards the bridge along NC 58 to improve operation and increase storage capacity. The intersection is located within Carteret County between Cedar Point and Cape Carteret municipal boundaries.
SEPI is analyzing existing and proposed facilities to recommend cost-effective solutions to reduce congestion and improve area mobility while promoting safety for pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorists.
For this multi-disciplinary project, SEPI is responsible for providing environmental planning, final design, traffic forecast, capacity analysis, signing/pavement markings, work zone traffic control, hydraulic design, erosion control, utility coordination, geotechnical investigations, and signal design.
