SEPI was part of a team chosen to reconstruct and widen approximately eight miles of I-85, including interchange modifications to provide an eight-lane divided facility from north of NC 73 to just north of Moose Road in Rowan County.
SEPI was responsible for completing hydraulic design and erosion control plans for approximately two miles of interstate widening, as well as 2.4-miles of -Y- line improvements associated with the Lane Street Interchange and Brantley Road Overpass.
The project is located within the critical area watershed of Lake Fisher and required the design of hazardous spill basins for the majority of outfalls along this corridor. The drainage design along Lane Street included closed drainage design at three roundabouts.
