North Carolina experienced a major disaster declaration following severe damage from Hurricane Matthew in October 2016. SEPI provided emergency response services and served as the monitoring firm responsible for overseeing the debris removal contractor for debris removal in East Guilford County. This project generated over $7.5 million in invoices for the Contractor.

The Temporary Debris Storage and Reduction Site (TDSRS) added an additional feature to this contract because the site picked by the NCDOT closed prior to recovery efforts beginning. SEPI assisted the NCDOT and the Contractor in locating a site and getting it permitted.

SEPI was also responsible for preparing the final documents including pictures and GPS coordinates for each leaner and hanger.
