SEPI was selected by the NCDOT Division 8 for more than 15 low impact bridge replacement projects over the past four years in the counties of Richmond, Moore, Montgomery, Chatham, and Randolph, NC.

Many of the projects were located within FEMA Detail and Limited Detail Study Areas and required the completion of MOAs (Memorandum of Agreement) between NCDOT and North Carolina Floodplain Mapping Program (NCFMP). SEPI scope of services also included utility coordination and the development of Utility By Others (UBO) plans.

Proposed bridge designs either maintained or increased the level of service, and where required, met the regulations of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Type to be obtained from the North Carolina Floodplain Mapping Program.

Best Management Practices (BMP) were incorporated into the erosion control plans, maintained as required, and inspected by the design engineer after rainfall events that warranted a site visit for further erosion control field recommendations.
