SEPI was contracted to provide conventional design survey services for the 2.5-mile roadway project on NC 55 under our Limited Services Agreement with the NCDOT Location & Surveys Unit.
SEPI performed project survey control which involved establishing baseline control along the project corridor; provided coordination with CSX Railroad by arranging permits and flaggers for a survey of 4,800-LF of active railroad; and led property related services that included property owner identification and notification for 377 parcels, property research, and property ties.
The obscure areas requiring topographic survey totaled 31-acres. The hydrographic surveying involved 25,000-LF of stream surveys utilizing Trimble Sonar Mite Echosounder hydrographic surveying instruments for pond bottom surveys. Other responsibilities included merging data provided by photogrammetry, mobile scan, and SUE providers.
