SEPI is performing construction inspection and survey verifification services for the I-26 widening project in Asheville, NC.

This 7.49 mile I-26 widening project begins at Exit 40 (NC 280/Airport Road) in Henderson County and continues to the Brevard Road interchange in Buncombe County. The project is designed to widen I-26 from two travel lanes to four travel lanes in each direction. The project will also include the construction of seven new bridges including two over Glenn Bridge Road, two over Biltmore Farms Road, two over the French Broad River and one on the Blue Ridge Parkway over I-26.

The purpose of this project is to alleviate traffic congestion and improve the overall safety and operational efficiency of this vital stretch of interstate.

SEPI is providing various construction inspection and survey verification services including asphalt paving, concrete paving, drainage installation, subgrade stabilization, MSE walls construction, reinforced concrete box culvert extensions, bridge construction, noise wall construction, drilled piers installation, ITS installation, traffic signal installation, monitoring permitted sites, sedimentation and erosion control device usage, project documentation, and utility relocation.

The SEPI team is currently providing a TT III surveyor for survey verification and a TT III HICAMS data entry specialist.

SEPI is a sub-contractor for this project with Fluor-Daniel Asheville, LLC as the prime contractor.
