SEPI is assisting the City of Charlotte during the planning phase of this one-mile road widening project by providing traffic counts, capacity analysis report, public involvement, and alternatives analysis.
The capacity analysis will consider Level of Service, Volume/Capacity Ratios, and Pedestrian and Bicycle level of service.
During the alternatives analysis, SEPI will evaluate four horizontal and vertical alternatives, as well as various typical sections, which could include NAACTO features, such as separated bike lanes or a multi-use path.
After two rounds of public involvement, the City will select a preferred alternate, on which SEPI will provide an opinion of construction costs.
