SEPI utilizes Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) technology and equipment to augment our various service offerings in Asset Management & Maintenance, Construction Engineering & Inspection, Environmental, Planning, Geomatics, and Transportation. With the use of UAS or drone devices, capturing images and associated data is quicker, more accurate, less invasive, and safer than many types of traditional ground-based methods.
SEPI offers FAA certified and insured drone pilots for all your UAS needs. Our certified remote pilots also have experience in GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and analysis of UAS data for georeferencing and 3D modeling.
The following video highlights some of SEPI’s UAS experience and capabilities. Our capabilities include high quality photography, videos, staff training, emergency response (pre-storm & post-storm), inspections, construction project updates, environmental monitoring, thermal imaging, and more. All of our deliverables are customizable based on client needs.
Our feature UAS is a DJI Matrice 210 RTK v2. This drone carries multiple sensors on a single flight. We currently have sensors that record up to 5.2k definition, long range zoom of up 30x, as well as thermal capabilities. These payloads are used for condition assessments and inspections of various assets such as electric utilities, structures, and roofs. Other uses include construction project updates, storm damage assessments, and emergency services (fire documentation and search + rescue missions).
Additionally, our fleet includes a more compact DJI Mavic 2 Dual Enterprise and a DJI Phantom III. These units are ideal for accessing tight places and can be utilized/outfitted for a variety of specialty applications. This can include external speakers to project instructions for large crowds as well as spotlights to help illuminate remote areas. These UAS units can take visible pictures and videos as well as forward-looking infrared (FLIR).
SEPI’s UAS Mobile Command Center is outfitted with high-definition TV’s to allow clients the ability to view real-time streaming of flight missions. The vehicle is also equipped with high speed internet and onboard charging capabilities (for UAS batteries, cellphones, computers, etc). Our UAS Mobile Command Center is designed for long term deployments, quick response times, and is off-road capable. This versatile and stout unit is easily deployable and can be mobilized with minimal advance notice.
