Ben has more than 17 years of experience providing transportation solutions to improve safety and accessibility in communities across North Carolina. His depth of experience includes specialties in roadway design, Complete Streets, greenway design, traffic control, noise analysis, and signing and pavement marking.
Additionally, Ben has experience in utility conflict and relocation, site/civil design, storm drainage design, water distribution and sewer collection design, and traffic surveys. He is also certified by the FHWA for traffic noise models.
Ben’s responsibilities as Transportation Director include leading SEPI’s Hydraulic Design, Roadway Design, and Traffic Engineering groups and serving in an advisory role for a variety of complex transportation projects including traditional and design-build delivery methods.
Ben has also successfully managed numerous Federally-funded municipal projects and projects financed under the Locally Administered Projects Program (LAPP) for clients such as the City of Raleigh, City of Durham, and Town of Cary among others.
Ben holds a BS in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University and is a member of the American Society of Highway Engineers and the American Public Works Association – NC Chapter.
Brian has 11 years of experience as a water/wastewater engineer and brings comprehensive water and sewer infrastructure conceptual planning and project management expertise through successful relationships with numerous North Carolina municipalities and the NCDOT.
He has designed and managed water and sewer infrastructure facilities across North Carolina with a concentration in potable water distribution mains, sanitary sewer collection mains, re-use water distribution mains, sanitary sewer collection outfalls, sanitary sewer pumping stations, sanitary sewer force mains, storm water collection systems, stormwater control measures (SCMs), and storm water best management practices (BMPs).
He is also experienced in permitting, preparation of Professional Engineering Reports (PERs) and environmental technical documents, construction administration, traffic control plans, and downtown streetscape design.
Brian holds a BS in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University and is NASSCO Certified: PACP, MACP, LACP. He is a member of the Professional Engineers of North Carolina and is active in the Raleigh community, serving on the Salvation Army of Wake County Advisory Board.
Associate / Landscape Architecture Department Manager
Jeff is a professional landscape architect with over 23 years of experience. His expertise includes landscape design and site development projects throughout the Carolinas with experience ranging from initial due diligence and site evaluation; master planning and site design; and detailed design and construction observation for a variety of market sectors.
Jeff utilizes his depth of experience to provide context-sensitive landscape design through iterative design processes with a focus on team collaboration and operational and budget considerations for proposed solutions.
Jeff holds a Masters of Landscape Architecture from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University and a BS in Agronomy, Turfgrass Management from North Carolina State University. He is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects; the Holly Springs, NC Chamber of Commerce; and the Home Builders Association of Wake County. Jeff also served on the Holly Springs, NC Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors from 2013-15 and as Treasurer from 2014-2015.
John has over 30 years of experience in transportation construction management. Prior to joining SEPI, John was employed by the NCDOT Central Construction Unit where he served as Roadway Construction Engineer in Divisions 3-8 for 22 years. He also spent one year in Division 2 as a Resident Engineer and over five years in Division 1 as an Assistant Resident Engineer.
John has construction management oversight experience with large signature transportation projects, as well as smaller scale projects. He was involved in conducting LAPP Audits for the City of Wilmington and Rocky Mount for adherence to FHWA reimbursement guidelines. He is familiar with the NCDOT’s Standard Specifications and Roadway Standard Drawings and is experienced in proper contract administration.
John holds an BS in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University.
Nicole has over 12 years of experience in the landscape design industry. Her experience includes multi-modal planning, bike and pedestrian conceptual design, master planning, site design, regulatory permitting, cost estimating, construction drawings, and construction administration.
She has previously served as a Project Manager with duties including schematic design, design development, LEED strategies and documentation, and consultant coordination.
Nicole holds a Masters of Landscape Architecture from North Carolina State University and a BS in Health Services Administration from Ithaca College.
Associate / NC Manager of Planning + Environmental + GIS
Rajit has 15 years of transportation planning and engineering experience and has managed more than 100 projects of varying complexity for clients statewide. He is proficient in state and federal policies and procedures and has completed numerous projects involving Complete Streets, multimodal design, streetscapes, and bicycle and pedestrian improvements utilizing AASHTO and NACTO guidelines.
Additionally, Rajit’s expertise spans greenway facilities, feasibility studies, SEPA/NEPA, urban planning, environmental screening, permitting, parking, traffic noise analysis, and grant assistance. A proven project engineer, he leads multi-disciplinary teams with a focus on planning, collaboration, and engaging project stakeholders effectively.
Rajit holds a MS in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor of Technology Civil Engineering from the University of Kerala. He also holds a NCDOT Complete Streets Certification.
Assistant Vice President / Roadway Design Department Manager
Robbie is a skilled civil engineer with more than 11 years of experience providing design for roadway, greenway, Complete Streets, multimodal, transit, and freight projects throughout the Southeast. His expertise also encompasses geometric design of highways, intersections, tracks, and yards.
Robbie is well versed in traditional construction and design-build initiatives for complex projects across North Carolina and is responsible for overseeing municipal and state transportation projects, business development and teaming strategies, and team development and training for the Roadway group.
As a former Captain in the US Army Corps of Engineers, Robbie served as the US Army Contracting Officer’s technical representative on multiple projects in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Robbie holds a BS in Civil Engineering from University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a BA in Political Science from The Citadel. He is a member of the American Society for Civil Engineers (ASCE), the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE), and is a Charlotte Tree Advisory Commission Board Member.
Scott has over 32 years of experience in transportation construction management including maintenance operations. He has construction management oversight experience with large signature transportation projects, as well as smaller scale projects, and is very familiar with the NCDOT’s Standard Specifications and Roadway Standard Drawings, and he is experienced in contract administration.
Prior to joining SEPI, Scott was employed by the NCDOT where he served as Division Construction Engineer in Division 10 for over three years. He also spent over 10 years in Division 10 as a Resident Engineer, Assistant Resident Engineer, and County Maintenance Engineer. He also spent 14 years in the NCDOT Central Construction Unit as the Roadway Construction Engineer for Divisions 10 and 12.
Scott holds a BS in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University.
