We’re planners, designers, surveyors, environmental scientists, landscape architects, construction inspectors, and more.
Built on an entrepreneurial spirit, we are structured to stay innovative and adaptive. We’re proud to offer industry-leading expertise and full project delivery capabilities. With more than 350 employees in offices across North Carolina, SEPI is well-equipped to solve complex challenges for today’s built environment.
SEPI is a woman-owned business and recognized by the State of North Carolina as a Historically Underutilized Business (HUB).
SEPI is built on a team of professionals with extensive industry experience. We are forward-thinking in our expertise, offering clients robust technical expertise and creative solutions. We look at each new project as a unique opportunity to enhance the quality of life for the communities we serve.
Since 2001, SEPI has built a well-regarded reputation in the Triangle for multi-disciplinary services. Through strategic, organic growth and expanded consultant services into markets across North Carolina, SEPI quickly joined the ranks of the fastest-growing companies in the region.
By 2015, our rapid growth and financial success crossed the revenue threshold required for certification as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) and the company graduated from the program. This launched SEPI towards a larger horizon of opportunities and competition.
Undaunted, SEPI earned a spot on Engineering News Record’s (ENR) Top 500 Design Firm list for the first time in 2017 and grew to more than 350 employees and $39.3 million in revenue by 2018, earning an eighth consecutive Zweig Group Hot Firm List Award, a prestigious list honoring the fastest growing firms in the architecture, engineering, and environmental consulting (AEC) industry.

At SEPI, we want to work with exceptional clients on projects that improve communities as a whole and attract and retain employees who value their contributions to the company’s overall success.
Vision 2021 is SEPI’s strategic plan for continued company growth in the years ahead. It helps drive our internal efforts and initiatives in support of our vision to be a top-tier provider in each of our service lines.
SEPI’s Mission, Vision, and Values are the foundation of Vision 2021 and are critical to our current and future operations as a premier professional services firm.
To serve clients as a trusted resource, contribute to projects that improve the quality of life in our communities, and provide a rewarding employee experience through our inclusive team culture.
Promote unique client experiences, employee satisfaction, and operational excellence while aspiring to be a top-tier provider in each of our service lines.
We are driven to be visionary in our work and honest in our professional relationships.
We value transparency and diversity in our experiences, culture, and solutions.
We strive to be a positive influence at work and in our communities.
We respect each other and inspire confidence, internally and externally.
SEPI’s depth of resources has grown exponentially to offer a full suite of consultant services for a diverse range of clients and market sectors across North Carolina. And yet, SEPI is still known best from its roots as a transportation engineering firm.
As it turns out, we’re much more than that.
SEPI is committed to giving back as a company through our SEPI Spirit program by strategically investing in and supporting our communities in areas that align with our business practices and core values – primarily in education, the environment, and family services.
We care about the communities we serve, actively promoting firm-sponsored SEPI Spirit volunteer opportunities and encouraging employee participation in charitable contributions and local sponsorships.
Outside of work, SEPI employees serve on local boards, participate in non-profit organizations, and proudly partner on a variety of community initiatives that improve how we live, work, and play.
